Description

The dolphin rider was one of the badges of Taras. Always male, sometimes a boy, or a warrior, or a god.

Taras was called Tarentum by the Romans, and is Taranto today. It is a port city on the inside of the heel of the Italian boot. In Greek times it was a major regional power.
