Silesia today is mostly in Poland. Parts of it have been inhabited, invaded, occupied, and evacuated by various ethnic groups from the Celts to the Slavs, to the Germans, to the Poles, and many other peoples of smaller number and lesser renown. After World War II the borders were adjusted so that Poland got a big chunk of what had been Germany. The Silesian Germans were mostly deported to Germany.
