By “Modern World Coins” we mean here, generally, the round, flat, shiny metal objects that people have used for money and still do. “Modern,” though, varies by location. There was some other way they were doing their economies, and then they switched over to “modern coins,” then they went toward paper money, now we’re all going toward digital, a future in which kids look at a coin and say “What’s that?” We’ll say: “We used to use those to buy things.” Kid will ask “How?”

When we get really cheap coins we feel that we have to sell them in lots and batches because the processing costs get to be to much to sell them singly. Or, we got enough of them that we can sell them wholesale, in quantity. Or sell them by weight.

We occasionally buy what we call “poundage,” and we sell it that way too. With the pounds you will occasionally find a damaged coin but only 1 or 2 or 3 per pound. A pound (454 grams) is about 80 coins on average.
