Description
The wings of the vertebra are gone, leaving only the body. If they were present in the matrix the excavation would have been a much harder job.
Edmontosaurus dinosaurs were late Cretaceous herbivores with duck bills. They were, in their range, the buffaloes of their day.
I heard a paleontologist on the radio making a statement that fossils in general are extremely common and can be found all over the place.
