I got this in the 60s from a then girl friend whose parents had gone to west Africa and came back with a pile of ethnological stuff that at that time was freely available and easy to find.
Cast metalwork art objects were popular in parts of West Africa for several centuries.
Over the decades I’ve been selling collectibles my market has been about 97% coins, 2% paper money, 1% everything else.
